I’m always excited about the start of summer, partly because of my love for both food and fashion. I enjoy walking into a market and seeing fresh from the farm fruits and vegetables. Vibrant shades of berries, pink watermelon slices, rich leafy greens, and red orange tomatoes. This may also explain my passion for colorful clothing. Sharing 5 Things I am shopping for this Summer…
Wearing color doesn’t always have to be bold. There are subtle ways to introduce color into your wardrobe too. Color adds playfulness to an outfit. And, what a better time of year to express fun into your personal style.
Maxi Dresses
This summer’s longer dresses are breezing by showing off unique patterns and prints. I have been seeing tropical florals and large palm prints, like this style from Boston Proper. These fun in the sun patterns instantly have a feel-good vibe. What I particularly like about longer dresses is that they can be worn both during the day and in the evening.
White Blazer
Wear a blazer and you’ll instantly upgrade your look. Blazers add chic sophistication to any outfit. They can be worn with dresses, skirts, pants, and now we are seeing them with shorts for summertime. The clean lines of a white blazer will keep you looking put together all summer.
High Rise Wide Leg Pants
Refine your wardrobe this summer by swapping out your white jeans for a pair of loose-fitting high-rise pants. The loose fit gives a relaxed feel however, worn with a tank and unbuttoned oversized shirt you’ll be styling the ever-popular coastal grandmother trend. It’s a classic look that will never go out of style.
Slip on Shoes
Who doesn’t love the freedom of slipping on a pair of shoes and heading out the door? There are so many styles and shades to choose from, and it is a clever way to add color without being overstated. I recently picked up this style from Sarah Flint (use code SarahFlint-BANancyW to save $50 off of a pair of shoes).
Totes
When traveling, I like to carry a large tote as my purse to hold all the necessary essentials. Recently I have been adding a lightweight wrap for when air conditioning gives me the chills. I feel that tote bags are a functional and fashionable everyday purse, but they can also fill in as beach bags, computer cases, and carry your favorite book. My daughter in law gifted me this tote for my birthday and I absolutely love it!

I love all of these Nancy! I just bought several pairs of slide sandals at Target- one in Lilac as I ve wanted to add that color. I love the dress selection you have and that lemon dress is so pretty on you. I love the Farm Rio styles too- so fun and colorful. I like to bring a kimono or shawl to restaurants, as many really crank up the air! I am with you on the fruits and veggies, I love this time of year!
Enjoy your day!

Thanks for all the great suggestions Nancy. I have never worn wide leg pants but they’re so cute. I think I will get some this summer. Love that max!

I think they are so much more comfortable than skinny jeans. The key is to get them cropped this you can wear flats or wedges.
