I’ve got spring fashion on my mind! Sharing a round up of 5 Trends that I am excited to try in 2022 that you can wear now and into spring.
Cut-Outs
Ok, this isn’t exactly new. We have seen cold shoulder tops and keyhole backs for awhile now. And who didn’t try a little DIY back in the 80’s after the movie Flash Dance came out? What we are now starting to see is slashes of fabric cut out at the midriff and waistline. I hesitated with cut-out clothing thinking it may be too revealing, and that one must have a youthful body. Although, designers are smart enough to know that the average consumer is not a twenty something runway model. Look at all the bathing suits that have slits filled in with nude mesh. Like this one from Summersalt (and under $100!) Or sweaters with cutouts near the neckline or shoulder. With that being said, I decided to give this look a try when I came across this maxi dress. To my surprise, the small cut outs at the midriff are not revealing at all. The slits are an eye-catching detail especially since the fabric of this dress is tie-dye.
Leisurewear and Joggers for Evening
This jumpsuit not only a comfortable option, it also sets the tone that you can be cool. You are stepping outside the box by wearing something that is initially intended as loungewear. Joggers are a hot option. We are seeing jogger pants in luxurious fabrics such as cashmere and satin for a more elegant look. Joggers are no longer a daytime pant style worn only with sneakers, although this sleek pair will elevate any look. You can also pair them with a low heel and a blazer and you’ve elevated from casual to chic.
Oversized Blazer
This is a simple and easy trend to give in to. A retro look stolen from the 90’s with their pushed-up sleeves. Blazers of course are common business attire, yet they also pull together your jeans and a tee in a snap. They are also great in-between jackets, which makes them an excellent addition to your spring wardrobe.
Crochet
Crochet will always remind me of my youth and 70’s boho style. I’m scaring myself because it’s admitting that I’ve been around that long. This crochet dress makes for a stylish coverup. If you are uncertain about giving crochet clothing a try, then choose a fun crochet accessory to update your wardrobe this spring. This designer dupe from DSW will have you right on trend for spring.
Lug Loafers
Lug Sole Loafers are a shoe style that I absolutely love. They add height and are very comfortable! Instead of the usual dark leather tones we see in fall, this creamy ivory shade is an ingenious change up. The juxtaposition of an edgy looking lug heel and a classic loafer have a great dynamic.
Denim Jumpsuit
I jumped on denim jumpsuit trend knowing I could wear this outfit both day and at night. Worn with lug heels, wedges, or sneakers, the wide legged cropped style pant is perfect for me. I’m 5’ 4” and wearing a size two. Most jumpsuits I have tried previously left me with too much length in the leg which made me feel dwarfed.
A few other upcoming spring trends for springtime are matching sets and bright colored accessories, but those are going to be reviewed in future blogs. Cheers ladies!

I held off on cut outs thinking it wasn’t for me but I’m happy that I gave it a try!

Blazers with jeans are an instant upgrade from an everyday casual look. Just throw on a blazer and your change to a dressier style. There are so many fun styles out now too, they aren’t stickily for business anymore.
