We are all searching for natural beauty tips to achieve glowing skin, right? One of the tips we hear most often is to remain hydrated. I read somewhere that drinking half your weight in water can help with hydrating your skin. It also helps you to digest food better and allows your kidneys to function properly. Having extremely dry skin, I thought I would research this more and try to focus on drinking more water. Unfortunately, after a couple days I was getting bored with it. In addition, I didn’t like the inconvenience of going to the bathroom several times a day.
Not quite ready to give up I researched flavored waters. This really interested me because I found several tasty combinations and they had health benefits. Not only was I going to get hydration for my dry skin, I would reap the additional health benefits. This made the effort seem worthwhile, and so it began.
I started each morning by filling up a two-quart pitcher and then added my “flavor of the day.” After a few weeks, I started to lose weight and my skin’s dryness improved. The downside was still having to use the bathroom often. I have, without a doubt, decided the benefits outweighed the inconveniences.
When I need to run errands, I fill a water bottle and bring that with me in my car. Drinking two quarts of water a day was no longer a difficult task and I felt better. Just make sure to empty your container each day and start with fresh ingredients and a clean pitcher to avoid mold.

As I sit here drinking my water (which is probably only about 2 cups per day, unless I’m parched), I wonder if I may try your suggestions. Added health benefits plus some tasty combinations sounds like something I could easily/happily add to my routine! Thanks for the ideas and encouragement!

Hi Lisa,
Once you get started it is easy. I challenge myself each day to make sure I finish drinking the required amount. However sometimes I fail too. It’s so beneficial to stay hydrated. I hope you find it works to help you drink more water.
My Best,
Nancy
