Classic or Trendy ?
I always see fashion articles encouraging me to find my “true style”. And you know what? Honestly, I don’t believe I can define it that easily. I can’t commit to one type of style and stick with it. I like to change up my look and style depending on where I’m going, or who I will be with, and of course what kind of mood I am in. It’s great to own tried and true classics, but I also find it fun to add in a few trendy pieces too!
Can you mix the two? Of course, if that suits your personality! I have many friends who choose to stick to their classic looks. Often while shopping, I will see something and instantly say “this is my friend Marylee” or that “looks like something my girlfriend Julie would wear”. As for me, I often refer to my style as an artistically inclined chameleon. I love fashion and being creative. I like mixing old & new, inexpensive with expensive and of course classics with trends.
Classic Cozy Fall Sweater
Yesterday, on a cool yet sunny fall day, my daughter Brittany enjoyed a nice walk in Geneva, Il. I’m wearing Appleseed’s cuddle boucle pullover sweater in green. A classic cozy fall sweater that is the perfect combination of comfort and style. The roomy pullover also has a nice detail in that it is accented with a ribbed bottom. Since the temperatures just began to dip here, I did add an extra layer underneath by opting to go with this paisley print stretchy knit mock turtleneck. I have always been fond of paisley and knew instantly that the colors on this pattern would look great with blue jeans too. I’m wearing a petite/small and I feel that it ran a little large. It’s very lightweight and is perfect on its own during warm fall weather. I’m wearing a size medium in the boucle sweater. I like my sweaters to have a little extra room for layering underneath, so I went up a size.
Now let’s get to the trendy part of this look! I’m wearing these leopard Bandolino Liberty Slip on Loafers. This is a comfortable flat that comes in a variety of different patterns and styles. As you can see, I took two classic pieces, the sweater and the mock turtleneck top, and threw in a twist with the leopard print shoes. This is a comfortable classic shopping look that fit my free-spirited mood.
Thank you to Appleseed’s for partnering on this post!
