Combat Boots: On Trend for 2020
Think you’ve been seeing a lot of combat boots lately? Well, you have! Combat boots are the latest craze. Though previous styles had more masculine touches, the latest styles add a touch of femininity. Originally designed for comfort and durability, combat boots have rapidly risen to the top of the industry and are on trend for 2020.
There are many new and versatile styles that have hit the stores. I love combat boots with studs. And, I am falling for the styles that have buckles applied as adornments. Not to mention there are the snakeskin and floral-patterned combat boots too.
What makes a pair of combat boots even more fabulous then they look is that “these boots are made for walking”. Yes, combat boots are extremely comfortable! And comfort is key, right? Originally, the boot was designed for soldiers. Made for comfort and endurance, with an added benefit of providing ankle stability. Now, what I enjoy most is that the new styles can be worn with ease for hours. Whatever style boot you choose to wear combat boots imply a youthful vibe
Combat Boot Outfit Ideas
For one look, I styled my studded combat boots with my new pattern of my Spanx Leggings and a comfortable long sleeved t-shirt.
In the next set of pictures, I opted to style the boots with black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a oversized plaid jacket.
Other Ideas for Combat Boot Outfit Ideas
- Leggings and Oversized Sweaters and Tops
- Denim
- Prairie Dresses or Sweater Dresses
- Cropped pants
Back in the 70’s, we referred to combat boots as stompers. And, at that time, they were not considered feminine. In fact, more men than women wore them. Now, with all the pattens and embellishments, women of all age groups have added combat boots to their shoe collection. I recommend owning a pair because they not only make a fashion statement, they are a very practical boot that you can wear for at least three seasons. Thus, a worthwhile wardrobe investment.

I honestly was not a fan of combat boots…. until this post. The feminine touches on the ones you have styled make them adorable! And I really like your idea of wearing them with prairie dresses or sweater dresses.

Hi there Nancy,
Your boots are fantastic! I just may have to get myself a pair this year.
I like the ankle support idea. My husband has been insisting that we have needed ankle support on different trips over the past few years. (Alaska, Africa, Grand Canyon) These are a perfect way to add support and style!

Good Evening Rosemary,
I have seen your blog about Africa, that must have been such an amazing trip. I always opt for comfortable shoes when traveling because you never know how long you’ll be on your feet. I’m certain with living in Florida boots are not given much consideration, but I do think they would be great for traveling. Can’t wait to hear about your next trip!
My Best,
Nancy

Hi Nancy!
Happy New Year to you too!
I LOVE combat boots, they really are my favorite boots in my collection and I wore them the other day with a floral dress. I have eyed the pair you are wearing by SE in black> Love the diferent neutral color you have on, and the studs are what make it cool ! Love both looks, especially with the camo leggings.

Good Evening Jess,
Happy New Year to you as well! I’m glad you liked the blog. I can certainly picture you looking pretty awesome in combat boots with dresses. The neutral color will work in a warmer climate where I live, although if I lived where there was snow I would go with black. Thank you for following along with my blog.
My Best,
Nancy

Hello Jenifer,
Combat Boots have certainly changed from the traditional styles that we have seen in the past. As I mentioned in the blog there are studded, florals prints, and even patent leather now. Thank you for emailing me I always look forward to and appreciate hearing feedback.
Have a wonderful Week!
