Making Easter Candy with Kids
I enjoy any time that I have the opportunity to spend time with my grandchildren. It is fun to get creative in the kitchen with something they’ll love eating. I have fond memories of making easter candy with my kids and now I enjoy baking with my grandchildren. Plus, it is a wonderful way to spend quality time. I found this recipe on Five Heart Home. It sounded simple and I knew it would be a delicious way to bond with my granddaughter while I was visiting. Below is my slightly altered version of the recipe.
Ingredients for Chocolate Bark
- 11-ounce bag of White Chocolate Chips
- 2 bags of dark chocolate or milk chocolate chips
- A 9-ounce bag of pastel coated mini Easter eggs
- 1 cup pretzel sticks
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- Colorful Easter sprinkles
Directions
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Next, melt the dark chocolate over the stove in a double boiler or by placing your bowl of chocolate over a pan of boiling water. Stir chocolate until it is fully melted.
- Then, spread the melted chocolate evenly onto the parchment paper. Next, melt the white chocolate chips using the same method above. Spread the melted white chocolate onto the dark chocolate using a spatula to swirl the chocolates together.
- Working rather quickly top the chocolate with your toppings. Use the marshmallows, the pretzel sticks, and the candy coated chocolate Easter eggs to create a fun design. Lastly sprinkle on the decorative sprinkles.
- Place the cookie sheet (uncovered) in your refrigerator for around an hour to harden. Once it has hardened, you can remove the parchment paper from the back of the chocolate bark. Gently break apart the bark into pieces. Store any unused bark in an airtight container.
As you can see from this adorable picture of my granddaughter it’s a thumbs up activity!

Hi Melanie,
I can’t tell you enough how fun it is to be with my grandchildren. Do they wear me out…oh yes but after they leave I cherish all the memories.
My Best,
