How to make the fall color trends work for you.
The cool crisp days of fall have arrived and so have the vibrant fall colors. I have some friends that prefer to wear darker colors most of the time, and I then have some friends whose wardrobe consists of an entire color swatch. Which is the right choice? Well, let me tell you- they are both great choices.
In my younger days, I enjoyed taking art classes. I remember one of my instructors sharing with me that “there is no right or wrong in art, as one is expressing themselves”.
That’s exactly how I feel about style. You are dressing for exactly how you feel. Several times, I have seen fashion magazines show pages of various prototypes, asking you to find your style. I am never able to do that. My style always reflects my mood, where I am going and mostly how much time I have had to get dressed. I often choose to wear color, as that is what best suits me.
However, nothing says sophistication more than dressing in monotone. In addition, everyone owns a “little black dress”. Why? Because a black dress is a style staple and will forever be a great fashionable choice. Need I ask you how many pairs of black pants you own?
Let’s get back to fall and the rich intense colors, all the various shades of reds, yellows, purples, oranges, and browns.
Do not be afraid to mix patterns as long as the colors match. That works, really.
If wearing color is not your preferred choice, spice up your look with a scarf or jewelry that includes fall color tones. It still makes a fashion statement. I will continue to alternate my outfits with the colors of fall until December, then we will talk about winter’s distinct color palette.
Cheers to you!
