In my last few posts on social media I was wearing boots. Several ladies commented about them, which made me think it was time for another blog about shoes for the fall season. In a previous post, I had written about my favorite comfortable shoe brands- you can read that post here. It appears that many of us are welcoming the opportunity to put on a pair of closed toe shoes or boots. Warm weather and sandals are always a preference, but who doesn’t love a stylish pair of shoes?
Like most women I know, I have numerous pairs of shoes. With my recent move to Florida, I have found it necessary to cut back on the number of shoes I have. Lack of closet space and warmer weather have a greater influence on what I wear now. Fall is officially here on September 23rd. I’m longing for the colorful fall leaves crunching beneath my feet, but for me, that’s not going to happen in Naples. Regardless, I’m preparing to transition my footwear for the season just like everyone else. Here is what I see trending for fall shoes.
Shoes I’m Falling for Now // Fall Shoe Trends
Plush Fabric Shoes: Beautiful and luxurious shoes that will make an entrance wherever you go. You can wear these with anything, just make sure the colors tones match.
Rich Colors and Metallics: Burgundy wine-colored leather flats, and earth tone suede loafers. If you’re looking for something jazzier then get your groove on with metallic. silver and gold, will add polish to your look.
Animal Print: Spot on with the leopard and python print we are seeing
Feathers and embellishments: These evening shoes are perfect to pair with that LBD for a chic sophisticated look
Buckles, MaryJane’s, and Square Toes: You’ll be seeing all of these as the movie Downton Abbey is coming out and it has a significant influence on this year’s fashion
Fun Sneakers: Get a bounce in your step and enjoy the comfort of the seasons favorite trend
Shoes sometimes have a character of their own. I would be lying if I told you I never dressed from the bottom up because a pair of shoes spoke to me. Invest in a pair of fall shoes and enjoy wearing all the trendy styles now before you need to look for shearling boots for warmth.

I’m really liking the earth tones. Just picked up a pair of boots for the fall last week. They feel snug and comfy for fall. Thanks also for the tip on Downton footwear – big Highclere Castle/Grantham fan here.

So many fun choices this year. I already have a pair of leopard flats and I think I’m going to try something metallic. And definitely a fun pair of sneakers!

Good Morning Phyllis,
As I mentioned in the blog sometimes I start getting dresses with my shoes. I know it sounds silly but when you have something that excites you like a pair of animal print flats why not! Enjoy all your new fall shoes! I think you will be getting many compliments on them.
Regards,
Nancy

Wow, great finds! I’m especially crazy about the quilted fabric, metallics and animal prints. Metallic is such a fantastic and unexpected neutral. Love seeing the extra punch a metallic piece can add to an outfit.
