Dresses are an ideal way to withstand the warm fall weather. They are perfect when it’s too warm outside for jeans and you don’t want to wear shorts. Now, is the time to score some great deals in the stores. However, try to shop smart. With this I mean try not to purchase something you need to put away until next summer. While out shopping recently I found incredible deals and great items on sale- However, I thought I could share my ideas on how to wear and shop for summer items now and how to wear those summer dresses into fall.

5 Dress Styles to Buy on Sale Now and Wear into Fall

If you’re planning a winter vacation that will be taking you to beach weather then certainly look for those summer bargains. What I try to find now are the lighter weight flowy dresses in shades and patterns that you can wear into fall.

1) Shirtdress

Shirtdresses are an excellent choice because as the weather gets cooler you you can always layer them over a pair of pants

2) T-Shirt Style Dress

T-shirt dresses are perfect because they are not only comfortable but a longer black tee shirt dress with a tan wrap belt, and a pair of leopard sandals is very chic.

3) Gauze or Crochet Dresses

Look for gauze or crochet dresses in natural tones that you can throw an army green jacket over and wear with a pair of low booties.

4) Denim Dress

While the weather is still warm and even humid, and you’re looking to dress for the fall season try a denim dress. Denim dresses are another fabulous find that you can wear now and layer later.  

5) Smocked Dress

Smocked dresses with a tee shirt layered underneath are another comfortable and cool choice for warm fall weather.  These look great with tennis shoes.

Keep in mind while bargain shopping, you want to keep anything you buy suitable for fall. But don’t feel you need to stick to fall colors as that may be hard to do with at the summer clearance racks. Just know your colors and how to pair them.

A few colors to look for on the summer clearance racks

 If you find a magenta colored top or dress on sale…………that would pair nicely with an olive-green jacket, and brown toned shoes

If you find an orange colored top or tee’s this looks good with brown tones and taupe colors

If you find sale items in shades of blue those will pair nice with saffron or cognac for fall

Anything find in the color Blush goes very well with cranberry and olive for fall and then with black in the winter.

As for me, I’m sticking with longer dresses, both buttoned down or t-shirt dresses. I like the fact that I can dress them up or down and feel feminine at the same time.

Changing up a pair of shoes and adding accessories can easily take one from day to evening. These two simple dress styles can be very timeless and chic they are worth the investment. So don’t rule out shopping the summer clearance racks for fall clothing. Both dress styles can be worn with leggings or jeans as the temperatures drop. As I said earlier, wear now and layer later.
