Friday With Friends

It’s the first Friday of summer! I count the Memorial Day weekend as the official kick off to summer. And, I am certainly excited to be headed towards warm weather. After the winter we had, we deserve a nice long summer. Unfortunately, the weather forecast where I am at does not look great. They are calling for rain again, which means I’ll probably enjoy some shopping. Everyone seems to be having a sale!

Before I start with my shopping I want to tell you some exciting news! Recently, a very experienced blogger Tania Stephens, reached out to me in regards to working together on a series that she started up on her blog called Fridays with Friends. Friday with Friends is a way to meet fellow bloggers. I was elated that Tania had invited me to participate. Tania from 50isnotold has had such great success with her blog and the reason why is no secret. She is just like the rest of us looking to have fun with fashion. A few items I am shopping….

Whether headed out to local stores or deciding to shop online, there are a few sales I have my eye on. I am past the days where I waited for the holiday weekend to buy big appliances or household items, my kids are now excited about that. Seriously, my two oldest children are really excited about sharing their new dishwasher stories.

As for me, I always love shopping at Nordstrom. Their customer service and return policy easily make it a favorite. They are having their Half-Yearly sale, which is always fun to browse. I found this jacket which is great for layering over dresses or a t-shirt on a cooler summer night out and has over 250 positive reviews! This J. Crew Top is a style staple and a great price. Net A Porter is having a sale with up to 60% off- they have this really nice Michael Kors gown for only $87! It can be dressed up with special earrings and a clutch or worn as a more casual look too with a leather jacket and boots. I also found this sequined sparkle skirt which is beautiful! And you know, I love pairing a sequined skirt with a graphic tee

And one of my favorite sites to browse online is Moda Operandi, they are having almost 50% their designer brands. Moda Operandi has a beautiful collection of designer pieces. How pretty is this dress? Or this purse? A girl can look, right?

Fridays are for Friends…

While taking a break from online shopping, I also enjoy finding other blogs to read. When I stared my blog this past October, I never anticipated the relationships I would form. There is an amazing community of women whom I had never met before.

I have enjoyed meeting a variety of different women. Some like me, who look like me, or have similar interests as me. And others that are quite the opposite of me, but inspire me. Some are located in the midwest, the south, and even a few from Germany and Ireland. Either way, this experience allowed me to see what women of my age group really want. 

As I mentioned earlier, I was recently asked by Tania Stephens who started the blog 50 is not old to participate in a collaboration called Friday with Friends. What a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and find out more about the ones I’m already following. Thank you Tania for reaching out to me!
