Remember back in 2020…….wait, stop, there is nothing to remember about 2020! All the garden parties, bridal showers, baby showers, and weddings were cancelled. We never had the opportunity to wear pretty patterned floral dresses because we never left the house! I even wrote this blog in the very beginning of March 2020 because I was so excited to find a fun floral dress to wear to my son’s wedding shower (that of course was postponed). Spring florals are a cheerful welcome after the dreary dark days of winter. Even in the early weeks when the weather is less than desirable, it’s always refreshing to see floral blossoms adding a boost of sunshine. And today, I wanted to share a fun floral spring look as well as some tips on how to wear floral print.
Florals are no longer just for daytime. Depending on your footwear and accessories you can wear the feminine florals any time of day.
I found this pretty floral ensemble at Dillard’s and was excited to share. The designer, Antonio Melani, has created many beautiful florals that have a feminine flare. And, in my opinion, give off a very European Dolce & Gabbana vibe. My exact set is sold out. But I’ve linked a few pieces that I find very pretty below.

How to Wear Floral Print
When wearing florals, choose the right pattern for both your personality and body type. You may select patterns that stay in proportion to your height and weight. However, keep in mind your disposition. I am 5’3, and I choose small to medium prints. A taller person can pull off larger floral patterns. Yet if your personality is bubbly and outgoing, why hide behind a tiny print? Go for the bold and show your true spirit. Soft pastels will tend to give a feminine appeal whereas brighter florals will put you in the limelight for a fun party like vibe.
For daytime you can choose low flats, mules, or fun sneakers and pair them with a cute clutch like this one from J. Crew. In the evening I suggest a strappy sandal with a small clutch. Perfect for weddings and dinner parties.
Not too sure about a floral dress? Then opt for a flowy floral skirt with a solid sweater or knotted denim shirt. Floral rain jackets are also making a splash this season like this vibrant print one from Chico’s.
Ladies, it’s time to brighten your spring/summer wardrobe and show the power of the flower. Last year we missed many opportunities to wear our Sunday Best, this year make each day your best and why not say it with flowers. Cheers!
