My favorite brands of comfortable shoes

Did Cinderella feel comfortable in her glass slippers? We will never know just why her shoe slipped off when she was running down the stairs of the castle. Might I suggest that she kicked them off so that she could better manage all those stairs. Thus, my personal story about comfortable shoes begins. In another blog I wrote about heels and what styles had the most comfort. This time I’m going to talk about just plain comfort. I indicated that a good pair of comfortable shoes dictates your demeanor. I one hundred present stand by that. I also mentioned that I had both my hips replaced and that is when I started to research comfortable shoes.

Many of us are now at the age where we are getting knee or hip replacements or having to have foot surgery. This is not fun and there is a healing process. When you have surgery one of the hardest things to do is to be patient while you heal. There are many stylish comfortable shoes to choose from. You do not have to sacrifice style for comfort these days.

Below are some brands that I tried after surgery but continue to wear because I want to, and not because I have to. A few of these are even made with memory foam in the soles.

When I was a young mother of four, I would wear athletic shoes to give me that extra spring in my step to tackle the physical responsibilities of motherhood. When I worked at the Country Club, I was on my feet often, so I always had a pair of comfortable shoes under my desk that I would slip on for relief. 

During those times I never thought about comfortable shoes as anything more than a necessity. Today I have a different perspective.  With all the different styles to choose from I don’t have to feel compromised with style to acquire comfort. Most importantly, I have also found that if my feet are happy then I’m happy!
