It is the time of year where we will want to take special care of our hands. It’s time to stash extra hand cream in your purse to use continuously through out the day. I keep small tubes of hand cream in my kitchen, in my purse, and in my car. This time of year, with all the hand washing and cool air, it’s hard to keep my hands from drying out. No matter the season, I exfoliate my hands a couple of times a week and put sunblock on them when I’m driving, while I am golfing or on the beach. This can be a never-ending job because we wash them frequently to prevent spreading germs.
Below are some of my favorite creams and lotions to take care of your hands
Favorite Hand Creams
- Vaseline or Aquaphor ( I use this when they are really dry. I’ll apply it then place on white cotton gloves before bed)
- Eucerine Advanced Hand Repair
- Aveda Hand Relief
- L’Occitane Shea Butter
- Fresh Moisturizing Hand Cream
- Fresh Sugar Body Polish for exfoliating
We need to protect our hands. Hands like the lines on your face, tell your story. As women of our generation I’m sure our hands have taken us through many journeys throughout not only our lives, but also the lives of others.
As mothers and nurturers, our hands have reached out to comfort and dry tears. At times, it may have been our very own tears during some of life’s tribulations. They have embraced others in joy and happiness.
Our hands have been folded to worship and held open to receive life’s blessings. They have prepared many meals and shared meals. Hands can open and close the doors to our destiny. I can now say that my hands allow me to write these blogs.
When I look at my hands, I see veins and age spots but more importantly, I see hands that have played an important role in my life and the lives of many others.
I’m grateful for the journey that my hands have provided me throughout my lifetime. I will continue to care for them and appreciate the opportunity they give me to reach out to others in various ways.
After all, I’m regardful that the future is in my hands.

LOVE Aveda Hand Relief. I use it at night and my skin is still moist in the morning.

Have you tried Gold Bond Ultimate Skin Therapy Cream Healing Aloe Body Cream? I never thought I would use anything by Gold Bond (I think of foot powder when I think of the company), but this cream is wonderful. I use it on my hands every day. I discovered it last year in the travel-size bins at a drugstore and was amazed. It is not greasy, and your hands immediately feel smoother and better! I actually prefer the Body Cream over the Hand Cream because the Body Cream is absorbed more easily into my skin which makes it easier to use after washing my hands. It also seems to help the brown spots that seem to be multiplying on my hands.

Hello Carolyn,
Thank you for reading my story and reaching out to me. I have used Gold Bond body lotion but I don’t think I have tried the therapy cream with aloe. I will certainly look for it and give it a try, especially since you mentioned that it helps with age spots! Now a days since we are washing our hands so many times a day I need all the help I can get with keeping them moisturized.
Have a Great Week!
Nancy
