How to Style Graphic T-Shirts
Who doesn’t have a graphic t-shirt or two in their closet? I’ve previously mentioned my admiration for graphic t-shirts in previous posts. It’s safe to say I own quite a few different styles. Graphic T-shirts are the coolest shirts to have right now. The ever amusing shirts come in a variety of styles. There are tee’s with cute sayings, slogans, and rock bands, then there are some that display works of art.
Graphic tees have an attitude of their own, You can dress them up or down as I had done in a previous blog post with a glitter skirt. They are also a unique way of making a statement, however if your shirt stands out make sure to keep the rest of your outfit quiet. In a pickle over what to wear? Throw on a graphic tee and suddenly you got a cool vibe going.
6 ways to style a Graphic T-shirt
- Wear a graphic t-shirt with high waisted dress pants
- With denim jeans and skirts
- Wear with print and patterned skirts. My polka dot skirt is sold out but this one or this style are very similar alternatives.
- Even with comfortable shorts
- Pair with a blazer (this style is one sale) or moto jacket for a polished look
- With athleisure wear like these joggers or these that will be part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
A quick couple tips to styling a graphic t-shirt- a basic black and white graphic tee will probably be the most versatile and can be matched with anything. In the fall you can layer your t-shirts with sweaters and leather jackets.
A while back when I started shopping for graphic t-shirts, I found tattered and faded shirts at higher end stores that sold between $60-$80. I did not want to spend too much money, nor am I a fan of the distressed look. So, I shopped further and found a few new ones on Amazon.
Graphic T-Shirt Finds on Amazon
First, I choose a colorful abstract printed t-shirt. I thought this would be a fun shirt to style with my polka dot skirt. I also wore this with solid red shorts a few days later. There are several ways I can wear this shirt because of its many colors, and I liked that it was $16.99. I’m wearing a small and it runs true to size.
My second purchase was because of my granddaughter Emilea. She loves watching Toy Story. Putting on this shirt made me feel playful, as it has a bit of youthfulness to it. I ordered a small and felt it ran a little large. I may be currently wearing it with a denim skirt, but because of the gold stars, I plan to wear it with my gold sequin skirt too.
There you go! Have fun adding graphic tee’s to your wardrobe, as it’s hard to fail at pairing them.
