Can you wear sleepwear during day? At first I thought nope, this trend isn’t for me. But, I happened to find a top while shopping and decided to give it a try. I thought it would be fun to switch things up a bit.
This pajama top trend has been around a bit and there are several different types of loungewear pieces that you can experiment with. You can find them in all types of fun patterns, stripes, and colors. Loungewear is usually found in the sleepwear section of a department store. However, I found my top mixed in with street clothing on the clothing racks of Nordstrom Rack. I would not wear both the top and bottoms at the same time however; I will experiment with the look and wear them separately.
incorporating sleepwear into your everyday style.
Let’s start with the pajama top. I think this is the easiest trend that woman our age can wear. I paired my pajama top with a pair of navy velvet wide-leg pants. I think that they look best with a relaxed or loose fit bottoms such as a drawstring pant. Just remember, to keep it casual looking.
A silk sleep shirt-Ok let’s face it, no one our age is going to wear a sleep shirt alone as a dress, but, you can wear it over a pair of leggings or a skinny jean. Add a skinny belt and your look is complete!
A robe coat. I featured a robe coat in an earlier post from the fall highlighting fall outerwear trends. I purchased a robe coat at Nordstrom last fall and I’ve enjoyed wearing often it with denim jeans and a tee shirts.
The pajama pants can be easily slipped on over a bathing suit as a cover up. The same goes for a wearing a pajama shirt. Which I think is a also the perfect alternative as a bathing suit cover up. Try a pair of pajama bottoms with a tee shirt or loose tank. Next, pair your sleepwear with sandals or flats for a warm weather casual look.
I think overall if you keep your shoes and the rest of your accessories somewhat casual looking, you might like sleepwear dressing in the day. It’s a fun look and let’s face it, when you grow tired of this look you can actually utilize them as pajamas.
