I’ve never seen so much hype about the summertime blues; by that, I mean denim dresses and skirts. I mentioned that metallic sandals would give you miles of wear because they will pair with anything. However, with summer clothing, I want to emphasize that if you are going to make only one purchase choose a denim dress or long denim skirt. Both denim dresses and denim skirts are at an all-time high on the “trending now” list. What makes them so great is that they can be worn in any season and climate. When I started my search, I couldn’t make up my mind as to which to buy a dress or a skirt, and I was hesitant about the skirt because I felt it was more of a trend, and didn’t I want to look like I was heading to a music festival. However, I found both these pieces reasonably priced on Amazon, which allowed me to buy both.
How to Wear Denim Skirts
The longer midi-length denim skirt is a trend that is currently killing it. I styled mine with a sweater, white tennis shoes, and a button-down shirt. This high-rise button-style skirt has stretch, yet I suggest sizing up one size.
Other Ways to Wear to Style a denim skirt

- Tee shirts and cardigans
- Button-down shirts or blouses with statement accessories
- Blazers or a colorful moto jacket

The nice thing about this denim dress is that it is lightweight and machine-washable. It’s also a fast-growing favorite amongst fashionistas’ because it’s an excellent alternative to summer’s white denim jeans. Denim is a forever fabric that is here to stay, but swapping out denim dresses and skirts instead of blue jeans will keep you comfortable when the temperatures start rising.
Wear shorter denim dresses with flats or sandals and longer styles with a slight platform shoe. I found this short denim shirt dress on Amazon with fringed cuffs and a hemline. I’m wearing a size small with metallic flats. I wore this dress to meet my girlfriend for lunch and later when my husband and I went to the movies.
From fringed to embellished or even patchwork denim, there’s a style for every personality. I also like mixing dark and light denim and adding a soft statement accessory. This is a casual yet chic combination also hitting the scene this season.
