Wearing white after Labor Day was once a major fashion don’t, but guess what, things have changed! White is crisp, clean (if you don’t have little kids near by) and an easy way to brighten up your outfit. When skies are grey and the temperature drops, I love adding white and color to my style to brighten up my day.
So, go ahead and wear white! Just pair your white piece with a darker item like brown, black, or denim (my new favorite go to). Add in a pair of dark leather sandals or booties and you are good to go!
You’ll want to keep fabric in mind when you transition into fall and winter to avoid looking too summery. Think white knit sweaters, white denim paired with a denim blouse, or even white booties with a longer dress or skirt, all ways to incorporate the color white into your style.
Off white is probably a safer option to wear if you are just beginning to experiment with adding white to your fall wardrobe.
While shopping at Oakbrook on a cool September day, I styled my white leather jacket with a light denim jean, black button down and silver booties.
Wearing white after Labor Day is possible, just add in darker colors and change your fabrics.
