My Green Chef Review
After spending the last several months at home and making our own meals, I was starting to feel a little redundant with our dinners. My husband kindly hinted that I should try to find some new meal options. Needless to say, when I was approached by Green Chef to try their meals a try, I was overly excited. Green Chef is a USDA Certified Organic Meal Kit Service. I’ve never tried something like this before and was a little curious. What makes them unique is that they offer meal selections for specific diets such as Paleo, Keto, Vegan, and Plant Powered so you can choose a plan that fits your dietary preferences.
Recipes only take about 30 minutes to cook, and have easy, step-by-step instructions
My Green Chef delivery came neatly packaged containing three separate meals, all the ingredients were labeled along with step by step easy to understand recipe cards and photos. I found the photos were extremely helpful! The first dinner I prepared was a Kale Salad with pork tenderloin. The meals come with pre-measured ingredients which help to keep your proportions in control. Most of the meals take about 30 minutes to prepare and I found that the cleanup was also extremely easy. I had used a blended seasoning packet for the meat which was pan seared and then roasted. Also included were packages of diced beets and radishes that I oven roasted in olive oil. These were later tossed into the salad with swiss cheese and sunflower seeds. The dressing was a creamy lemon Dijon which I found tasty.
A fun way to improve your cooking skills and enjoy cooking for a healthy lifestyle
Another meal option I had received were the ingredients to prepare beef fajitas wrapped in organic romaine lettuce. And served with a red cabbage slaw in a creamy verde sauce. Followed by ingredients for Chicken with balsamic tomatoes and cauliflower rice. I will admit I did improvise a bit on the last one. Because I knew my husband would not willingly eat cauliflower, I added a little heavy cream with along the parmesan cheese. Then I told him it was risotto 😊
If you are looking for fresh new ideas for dinner and want to eliminate time consuming meals and grocery shopping, I would give this a try. The meals are not hard to make and they offer a variety of fresh seasonal organic dinners to choose from. I do like to cook. However, it was really nice to enjoy meals that did not take a lot of effort and are healthy. Using a meal subscription service allows you to try and experience some new foods. And, its really quite simple if you are not a cook. It really takes the thinking out of what to make for dinner.
