Hooray! Summer is officially here! Even though this summer is different, it is not preventing us from improvising how to spend time outdoors. One of my favorite things about summer is that I do not need socks for warmth. I love the idea of throwing on a pair of shoes, with my toes exposed, and heading out the door. Below I am sharing two types of sandals I have recently purchased and a few more that are trending for summer. You do not have to sacrifice comfort to be fashionable! See for yourselves.
Flip Flops
I’m wearing these rhinestone flip-flops that I purchased on Amazon a lot. They come in a variety of colors too. And they look great with dresses and skirts. Flip flops are no longer just for the beach
Flatforms
Flatforms
A newer sporty-looking shoe. I like wearing these funky style shoes with T-shirt dresses and denim skirts. Do not let the platform fool you; these shoes are comfortable.
Low Wedges
Elongate your legs with a slight lift at the heel. You can wear low wedges with shorts, dresses or skirts. Adding a little height to your legs will definitely flatter your look.
Waterproof
Waterproof shoes are comfortable and great for when you spend a lot of time outside, especially on hot, muggy days. Most waterproof styles dry quickly if you get caught in summer rain. There are also rubber slip-on versions which I would wear around my house like a pair of slippers.
Espadrilles
This laid-back and comfy style will adapt a comfy boho vibe to anything you wear. This brand is a favorite of Kate Middleton and pairs well with summer dresses for a dressed-up look or will even work with your beach cover-up for a dressy casual vibe.
Slides
I like to wear slides with cropped summer pants and jeans.
Lastly, I can not conclude this article without mentioning that you must remember to take care of your feet whether you choose to go to a salon or opt for an at-home pedicure. A good exfoliating scrub like this will eliminate dead, dull skin and will keep your skin healthy. Once a week, try an at-home scrub followed by a thick foot cream. Your feet will thank you!
Hi Nancy! I love your shirtdress and your skirt! I love sandals and have bought some strappy ones this summer. I have flatforms and I love your black ones and that they are all black, even the base. I always cant get enough espadrilles. as they are the epitome of summer. I have the Jambu wedge pair ! 🙂

They have so many great styles now. I remember as a child my mother would buy us a pair of rubber ones that we wore all summer long. Something about flip flops brings back great memories. Now with the fancier styles I love them even more.

This was a great roundup Nancy! Since we live in Florida, I would have to say sandals are probably our most worn shoe year round. I am really loving the flatform sandal right now.
