At A Two Drink Minimum– we believe that your style doesn’t have to be defied by your age. A few times a month we will feature our take on few trends that you can easily incorporate into your style. The pictures will include Nancy’s version as well as Brittany’s take. Although our styles are different, that doesn’t mean we don’t have the same goal in mind- to look and feel good at any age.
Cheers to ageless style!
Layering your dress is a simple way to take your favorite summer staple into the fall and winter seasons. I have plenty of different options in my closet, but often feel that after the summer season, I need to put them away. However, that’s not necessarily the case.
Dresses are easy to layer- you can add a long sleeve tee shirt, turtleneck, or simple plain white t-shirt to your style. Feeling adventurous, try a graphic or logo tee, something fun. The look is made to be easy. Another option is to add leggings, skinny jeans or even tights to your look to add warmth underneath your dress.
Consider adding a transitional jacket, denim, leather or velvet coat over your dress. The contrasting fabrics give the outfit a new dimension. You can have fun with your shoe choices too– sneakers, motorcycle boots, mules, ankle boots, or printed boots.
I purchased a button down linen shirt dress this past summer at Gap- I’ve worn it this fall by styling it with a long sleeve tee shirt, skinny jeans, silver boots, and opting to wear it unbuttoned for a totally different look.
We decided to feature the layered dress look as an example of extending your summer style. Nancy chose to wear skinny jeans and studded boots. Brittany added a simple black turtleneck- easy right? Items that you probably currently have in your closet.
For that reason, don’t be afraid to layer your dress. Even more, have fun with your style, shop your closet and see what you come up with!
