First, who is Tommy Bahama?

Who is Tommy Bahama, you ask? Of course, you will often see Tommy Bahama style’s relaxed, upbeat vibe walking the streets, especially here in Naples, Florida, where the first Tommy Bahama store and adjoining restaurant opened. But do we know this gentleman or anything about him? Unfortunately, no one will ever meet him because he doesn’t exist!

In the 1980s, two men and their wives imagined life without ever leaving the beach. They created a character in their minds dreaming up what he would wear, and they named him Tommy Bahama. This led to the creation of an upscale casual clothing line for men with an island lifestyle. In the years to come, the line included women’s clothing, accessories, home furnishings, beach gear, and more.

Recently I enjoyed the experience of getting fitted for a bathing suit at the Tommy Bahama store in Naples. I learned that all their clothing was designed to build a wardrobe, making packing for a tropical vacation convenient. For example, each bathing suit collection offers three cover-up options. Tommy Bahama Swimwear Review

Tommy Bahama Swimwear is made in the USA using quality Italian materials. All bathing suits are designed for women of all demographics and ages. I prefer a one-piece suit that has tummy control panels and full coverage on the backside. For others that like two-piece suits, they offer a variety of tops and bottoms in several styles and cuts. This certainly makes bathing suit shopping easy. 

I also learned that bathing suits for women come in two fabrics, Island Cay and Pearl. I am wearing the Island Cay color block tie front one-piece bathing suit in size 6. The Island Cay is a textured pique fabric that is very soft. It also has 50 UV protection. I like how the suit stays in place, and there is no riding up in the back. And look at this cheery pink and orange cover-up! Indeed, a dress style that will take you from the beach to sunset cocktails in style.

In the second photo set, I’m wearing the Pearl Wrap Front One Piece in Blue Monday in size 8. This suit has a slimming wrap-front compression panel for comfort. It’s made of Italian microfiber and also has 50  UV protection. Once again, I like full bottom coverage, and the front ruching gives you a flattering silhouette. I paired the suit with another great cover-up in shades of blue and periwinkle, and this can also be worn alone as a dress.

    • Thank you 🙂 I found that after moving to Florida I needed to have more bathing suits as they get worn much more often. I really liked the colors of these to suits as well as the flattering style.

      You will be happy to know that several items of their clothing has sun protection. Also the clothing is made to be interchangeable so you can find tops and bottoms both to match with added sun protection.
