I love wearing dresses in the summer because I think they are a great stylish alternative to wearing shorts. And, they can keep you cool in the summer heat. For my birthday in May, my son Rj and his family generously gave me a gift card to Nordstrom. I had been looking for a new summer dress and had been waiting until I found what I exactly what I was looking for. Brittany and I were shopping in Oak Brook Nordstrom when I found this Topshop Dress.
Last weekend while celebrating the 4th of July holiday and long weekend, I found myself looking for a simple casual summer dress that I can wear from afternoon into the night. I thought that I could style this Topshop Dress with a t-shirt and white sneakers for a daytime look.
Personally I’m not big on exposing a lot of skin and let’s face it aging skin isn’t that pretty. I like the simplicity of sundress’s but by adding a basic t-shirt underneath It provides a little modesty and maintains the clean lines of a flowy dress. For night you can even style it a denim jacket if the night gets cool.
I just found these cute espadrille white sneakers at TjMaxx the other day. They are super comfortable. But, as you know with TjMaxx their stock varies all the time. I found a few similar options that I linked below.
It is such a fun dress that I wanted to share with you all. After looking at it online though, I realized I tied the dress in front when it should be tied in the back. Oops! Oh well, what do you think?
