With most of us working from home these days, you may have found it’s hard to dress for success when you’re not leaving the house. Many people I know that work from home admit that they have taken conference calls dressed from the waist up. This works in a pinch, but research has proven that you are more productive if you dress for the role. Why? Because clothes give us more confidence. And when we feel confident, we are more productive. I think if you have a few simple pieces, you can easily create a work from home outfit.
Work From Home Outfit #1- A Comfortable Blazer
When you look for an easy and casual work from home outfit your want something that is pulled together, yet also provides comfort. I found this brightly colored golden hue blazer at Boston Proper. The warm and inviting feel of the color caught my eye. With spring arriving, I am anxious to see a new palate of colors taking the lead in fashion. In the photos above, I decided to wear it with jeans and a tee shirt. However, I see it with black leggings and a long tee, or a long floral skirt and low boots. And, not to mention, it is extremely comfortable. If you have to jump on a video call and want to be in the office mindset while at home, you will be very comfortable.
Work From Home Outfit #2- A Soft and Cozy Jumpsuit
The second item I recommend wearing for a casual stylish work from outfit is this paper-bag jumpsuit. The minute I saw this versatile piece I knew I could style it many ways. First, with a cropped jacket that I currently have in my closet. Next, I plan to style the jumpsuit with an oversized denim shirt, left unbuttoned, to show the tie waist. That would be perfect for daytime errands and lunch with girlfriends (hopefully soon!) Although, wearing it on it’s own is a great look too! I first wore this jumpsuit when I went to a dress fitting for my gown that I’m wearing to my son’s upcoming wedding.
Both pieces are great basics that give you effortless style. With the new normal being working from home, we are heading in the direction of more comfortable, casual, and cool style.

Wow, both outfits look great and very stylish! I love blazers, and this color is some sunshine brought to life on you! I just love yellows and mustard yellow. I have those sneakers too! I first thought the jumpsuit were separates, and I really should take out mine,. I love the paperbag style and color here. I only own 2 jumpsuits as I have the bladder of an infant, but they would be nice to wear now.
take care Nancy

Hi Jess,
I’m with you on jumpsuits but I must say that this particular one is comfy. You would look absolutely fabulous in this mustard yellow blazer. But then again you always look fabulous.
Have a wonderful Week!
