Now that we are back in full swing attending weddings, events, and parties. Look to celebrate in style, and let me help you answer the question of what to wear to a summer wedding.
It’s always best to pay attention to the invitation for clues on what to wear; venues and location help take the guessing out of what to wear. Also, if you are traveling, you want to ensure that your dress is packable and coordinates with the climate of your final destination.
Black Tie Weddings
Embrace the glamor with floor-skimming gowns, and pay attention to accessories. Who knew that opera gloves are ultra-glam right now?
Garden weddings
Outdoor weddings are always romantic; I would choose feminine florals, patterns, and colors reflecting nature and its’ environment. This also holds for accessories, such as clutches in rattan or bamboo. Midi dresses are my favorite choice for garden weddings, as it’s a safe length for a windy day. And remember to wear shoes (Love these!)that will be accommodating while walking on grass, gravel, or cobblestones.
Beach Weddings
Lightweight natural fabrics that flow in the breeze, as you do not want to overheat. Slides or sandals are smart footwear choices, especially when heading out on the beach. Remember also to bring along sunglasses and your sunscreen. You will need them if there isn’t any shade or covering from the sun.
Country Clubs
Consider wearing everyone’s favorite and very reliable LBD. Another fashionable trend right now is an elegant jumpsuit with rhinestone jewelry. In addition, satin slip dresses seem to be a recently favored dress style, and to accessorize, slip on a pair of strappy sandals.
While shopping, note that this summer season, we are seeing a lot of bright colors, sheer layers, and asymmetrical hemlines. Whatever you decide on, remember to own the look. The most valuable style tip I can offer you is to wear what you are comfortable with, and you will illuminate with confidence.
