What to Wear with Lug Sole Sandals

No one saw this chill shoe style coming. First introduced by luxury brands such as Chanel and Prada, it has become vastly popular. In no time, other, more affordable shoe brands came up with their versions. I’m referring to the chunky platform dad sandal. And today, I am sharing what to wear with Lug Sole Sandals

I recently jumped on board with this comfortable and chic-looking shoe style after I saw it worn with a sophisticated-looking dress at Neiman Marcus. The lug sole is usually made with rubber and has large groves. This not only elevates your look by elongating your legs, but it’s also comfortable. Also, because of the chunkiness, it has an edgy vibe, making you think it’s a good match for laid-back looks.

When I saw a pair of lug sole dad sandals styled with a dress, I became intrigued at how they mixed sophisticated with unconventional. I liked the contrast between the two, as it made an ultra-chic statement without going over the top.

We have often seen lug soles on sneakers, loafers, and boots, which offer you warmth and style in colder weather. However, recently dad’s sandals have become the posh shoe must-have. Dad Sandals usually have two straps across the top, similar to Birkenstocks. When I first tried on a metallic rose gold pair at Dillard’s. I felt as they looked like an orthopedic shoe I once had to wear for medical reasons and took them off right away.’ (mine are sold out-. These are similar)

Afterward, I could not stop thinking about them and anxiously returned to the store the next day, hoping they still had my size. So I not only bought the metallic pair, I added this furry Ugg dad sandal that was incredibly soft and comfy. 

What to wear with Lug Sole Sandals 

• Baggie Jeans with Sweaters 
• Skinny jeans, and a blazer 
• Your favorite two-piece loungewear set. 
• Sheath Style Dresses (my new favorite) Long skirts 

I’m calling this fierce fashion, mixing an unconventional piece with a classic. But, of course, combining opposites is not new, as Stevie Nick’s signature look of leather and lace was ingenious.
